Concrete tanks

After years in which the use of concrete tubs had been abandoned, we are witnessing the rediscovery, mostly by organic and biodynamic companies, of this poor material with unexpected virtues. This winemaking technique is based on the natural micro-oxygenation of the cement. In fact, this new type of tank is made up of troweled concrete, a technique whereby the internal walls of the tanks are smoothed, making vitrification unnecessary. Thanks to the porosity of the non-vitrified cement, the wines undergo a process of micro-oxygenation.

Terre del Bruno, always looking for suppliers who guarantee the highest quality, has chosen the company "NICO VELO SPA" for its tanks, which boasts a long and prestigious tradition in the production of prefabricated reinforced concrete tanks for wine. In 2007 it obtained the factory production control certification of all its factories and CE marking of the prefabricated elements produced. Furthermore, Nico Velo SpA has certified SOA for the execution of public works in the categories OG 1 class VI and OS 13 class IV.

Awards achieved: In 1999 the company won the first world B.I.B.M. for the best technical realization, for the execution of a bridge.

Furthermore, Nico Velo SpA has patented special integrated cooling / heating coils of which the concrete tanks purchased from Terre del Bruno are supplied. Thanks to these coils, totally integrated within the concrete of the tanks, it is possible to have total control of the temperature of the wine inside the tanks.
